Our new UV water purification system is perfect for solar energy systems and for use where there is no available grid power such as disaster relief, power outages and remote military operations.
The technology used is the UV-C ultraviolet light disinfection, which has proven to be a reliable water purification method for many years. Ultraviolet water purification was used in the US as early as 1916.
The submersible UV-12 lamp, which kills all viruses, bacteria and parasites is housed in a quartz glass emitter and is submerged in fresh water tanks and cisterns to treat up to 500 liters of water (Approx. 132 gallons) in 15 minutes. The unit automatically comes on for fifteen minutes every 4 hours to maintain water quality. Energy efficient 12V DC design is solar friendly and draws only 12 watts. Tested at the University of Heidelberg in Germany
Add our 80 Watt Do-it-Yourself solar energy kit to power this unit for 24 hours/day in most locations(summer months).
