Xantrex DR2424 Dual Inverter Power Panel A cost-effective alternative to assembling everything yourself. These power panels pre-assembled by Trace are usually cheaper than buying the separate pieces and putting them together yourself. Panels are available in a range of capacities, DC inputs and AC output configurations and are certified to UL standards by ETL Testing Laboratories as a complete system. If you are looking to assemble your own system, we'd suggest buying a power panel system. It'll save you time, frustration, money and some of the potential dangers of assembling it all yourself. While picking out the right power panel system for yourself, be sure to look at the options available. Add the option to your cart before you check out and they will be included (assembled) with your power panel before it is delivered to you. (Hint: Adding the C40 charge controller option to your power panel - which most folks who are going to use solar panels need anyhow - will greatly speed up the delivery of your order. Why? Trace usually has many panels with the C40 installed already made up and in stock.) In most cases, you will want to add at least the C40 charge controller option so that you may regulate the charge from your solar panels to your batteries. We've noticed there's been some confusion due to the reference to the AC charge controller built-in to the inverter. This is a feature that allows your system work essentially as a large UPS (backup power system). When the power from the grid is functioning the inverter works as a charge controller (using the AC electricity from the grid) and keeps your batteries topped off. When the grid's power fails the inverter then works like an inverter and uses the energy from the charged battery array supplies AC power to your home. The power panel meets NEMA type 1 environmental standards for indoor mounting only. Each power panel is shipped by truck in a wooden container. Shipping Because power panels are an assembly of various components and a metal backplate, they weigh at least 150 lbs. As a result, power panels cannot be shipped via by UPS and must be shipped by Truck Freight. Shipping costs range widely, depending on the size of the power panel and distance to be shipped. Panels are shipped directly from Trace (where they are assembled) to reduce middlemen cost and extra shipping charges. Shipping charges can range from $60 - $450 for shipping in the US. Shipping costs for orders that require truck freight currently have to be manually calculated. Once you place your order, you will receive an email within a short period with the description of your order with the shipping costs included. To complete the order you will need to respond with a confirmation that you wish to continue with the order. Note: Due to size and weight this item must ship via truck.
